Customized Services for Animal Model of Candida Albicans Vaginitis Infection

Candida Albicans Vaginitis Animal Model Customization Service

Vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) is a disease typically caused primarily by Candida albicans, which accounts for about 80% to 90% of VVC. To better prevent, treat and prevent the recurrence of Candida vaginitis and to study the mechanism of its development, it is crucial to develop an ideal mouse vaginal model of Candida infection. It has been essential to construct animal models of VVC, and the animals commonly used for the preparation of this disease model are mainly rats, mice, and rabbits.

Ace Therapeutics can provide customization services for candida albicans vaginitis models, including the mouse VVC model, rat VVC model, and rabbit VVC model. The ideal vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) animal model provides a good research tool for studies related to the pathogenesis of human vaginitis, prevention, and evaluation of the effectiveness of relevant drugs for prevention and treatment.

Customization Service Options for Animal Models of Candida Albicans Vaginitis Infection

  • Mouse VVC model

[Model animals] 8-10 weeks old ICR female mice

[Modeling method] A few days before inoculation, mice were first injected subcutaneously with oil of estradiol benzoate. On the day of inoculation, the mice were injected with Candida albicans suspension in the vagina.

[Model characteristics] From day 2, there was a high level of Candida albicans in the vagina of mice. From day 4, more budding spores and pseudomycelia could be seen in the smear of the vaginal lavage of mice. From day 7, clumps of mycelia were seen, and inflammatory changes, mainly neutrophils, were observed.

[Model evaluation and applications] This model was prepared by injecting estradiol benzoate oil to cause a pseudoestrous state in mice to prepare a mouse model of Candida albicans infection, resulting in the growth and multiplication of Candida in the superficial layer of the vaginal mucosa and the appearance of symptoms similar to those of women with vulvovaginal candidiasis. This model is simple to operate and reproducible, and 100% infection can be achieved.
