Multi-omics Service for Phage

Bacteriophage (phage) is a generic term for viruses that infect microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, algae, actinomycetes, or spirochetes. As a type of virus, phages are tiny, do not have a complete cell structure, and contain only a single nucleic acid. It can be considered a "bacterial predator" and is usually found in places full of bacterial communities, such as seawater, soil, and animal guts. The phage genome contains many genes, but all known phages use bacterial ribosomes, factors required for protein synthesis, amino acids, and energy production systems to grow and proliferate in bacterial cells. Once away from the host cell, phages can neither grow nor replicate. By growing and multiplying in host cells, phages can cause the lysis of pathogenic bacteria and reduce the density of pathogenic bacteria, thus reducing or avoiding the chance of pathogenic bacteria infection or disease, and achieving the purpose of treatment and disease prevention. However, its specific mechanism of action has not been studied clearly.

Ace Therapeutics offers multi-omics services for phages, including genomics, proteomics, and other histology. Customers only need to provide samples, and we will complete the true service process from sample extraction, library construction, sequencing, and bioinformatic analysis to report production in a one-stop shop, as well as proliferating after-sales service.

Multi-Omics Service Options for Phage

1. Genomics services for phages

We provide sequencing and analysis services for the genomes of many phages. Based on our automated library-building platform, automated quality control process, and high-performance computing platform, we build libraries of qualified samples provided by our partners and sequence them using multiple advanced sequencing platforms to ensure high-quality sequencing data. We also provide standard bioinformatics analyses, but if you would like to complete a custom analysis, please contact our technical engineers or sales staff.

Technology platforms

  • Next-generation library building sequencing (short cycle time, high quality)
  • The third-generation library building sequencing (single molecule real-time sequencing, ultimate data convenience)

2. Proteomics services for phages

We provide proteomics services for phages. We obtain phage protein expression profiles by MS platform, and also perform gene annotation of expressed proteins by bioinformatics technology, identify structural proteins, reveal the molecular structure and complementarity of phage adsorption organs and surface receptors of recipient bacteria, etc.; and study the protein mode of action and functional mechanism at the overall protein level, which provides a basis for further clarification of phage mechanism of action.

Technology selections

  • Qualitative proteomics
  • Quantitative proteomics (DIA / label-free / iTRAQ / TMT)
  • Post-translational modification proteomics

Sample requirements

  • Feces, intestinal contents ≥ 2 mL.
  • Food surimi ≥ 4 mL
  • Ruminal fluid ≥ 2 mL
  • Aqueous samples: 3 filter membranes of 4 cm in diameter
  • Swabs ≥ 5-10

Note: In addition, there are other services available for you to choose from, please consult us for details.

All of our services and products are intended for preclinical research use only and cannot be used to diagnose, treat or manage patients.
